The Yarn Butler puts a stop to it. Slide your yarn onto the wooden spindle, set the butler beside you, and it feeds up and off as you work instead of rolling away.

It takes whatever you're working from. A wound ball or center-pull cake sits straight onto the spindle. A cone slips over it and stays upright instead of tipping every time you pull. Skeins you've wound yourself, mill ends, the last stubborn third of a cake that won't hold its shape: all of it stays put and feeds clean.

The whole thing turns on ball bearings, so the base spins with almost no resistance. No jerk, no drag on the working yarn, no stopping to untangle. It keeps pace with you whether you're knitting, crocheting, or winding off onto another ball.

Turned from solid wood with a smooth natural finish, it's weighty enough to stay put on the table under a full cone and handsome enough to leave out between projects. The spindle unscrews from the base for storage or travel.
